Awards highlight Mandaue's 42nd Charter Day celebration
CEBU, Philippines - The awarding of Mandaue City's most outstanding employees and department heads highlighted yesterday's celebration of the 42nd Charter Day anniversary.
Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes yesterday said the city charter day celebration was simple, starting with a Mass and then followed by a short program at the City Plaza Square wherein 20 most outstanding employees were presented.
But the mayor yesterday told the employees to just continue building the city's dream of having a more progressive city.
The outstanding awardees were presented plaques of recognition and cash rewards of P3,000 during last night's closing ceremony of the celebration.
This year's 20 most outstanding city and barangay employees were:
Most Outstanding Office Head - Musolini Soliva, market administrator.
Most Outstanding Regular Employee - Airine Limosnero.
Most Outstanding Job Order employee - Paulito Puntod.
Most Outstanding Barangay Health Nutrition Worker - Annabelle Caderado.
Most Outstanding School head - Adeline Luarez.
Most Outstanding Classroom Teacher - Nino Matillano.
Most Outstanding BJMP - SJO2 Jaime Cobol.
Most Outstanding Police Officer - SPO4 Marissa Basiga.
Most Outstanding Police Station - Opao Police Station, led by chief CP/Insp.Wilson

Most Outstanding Team Enforcer - Marvin Quijano.
Most Outstanding Day Care Worker - Edna Macaalay.

Aside from the awarding of the outstanding employees, another set of 23 individuals, non -governmental Organizations (NGOs), and establishments in the city also received plaques of appreciation for their valuable contribution to the city's progress.
Earlier, Corters also announced that all regular employees in the city will receive their charter day bonus of P3,000 to P5,000.
Job order employees will also receive a bonus which is yet to be determined by city budget officer Lamberto Marababol.
Cortes said that although the bonus was already approved by the city council last week, he still has to wait for the resolution to be endorsed to his office for final approval before bonuses will be released.
Yesterday's celebration was joined by more or less 5,000 city and barangay employees from the city's 27 barangays.
