"Fratmen" maul man

CEBU, Philippines - A 28-year-old man who was playing billiards in sitio Dunggoan in barangay Basak, Mandaue City Saturday evening was rushed to hospital after alleged members of a fraternity ganged up on him for still unknown reasons.

Gleen Perame sustained bruises and stab wounds on his rib cage and left hand.

Based on the investigation conducted by the Basak police station, before the assault, Perame noticed one man was staring.

His attackers left as soon as he was bloodied.

Anthony Quilaton, 23, who resides in the sitio, was arrested but denied involvement although the police found a loaded .22 magnum Derringer revolver in his possession.

Quilaton is being detained at the Basak police station.
