Luigi to introduce projects in district

CEBU, Philippines - Sixth district Rep. Luis Gabriel Quisumbing is set to initiate agricultural projects in the entire sixth district after meeting with Department of Agriculture -VII director Leo Cañeda Wednesday.

Quisumbing said his meeting with Cañeda is so timely especially now that he has been attending budget briefings in different government agencies after being appointed by House Speaker Sonny Belmonte as his representative to the House Committee on Appropriations.

Quisumbing said he told Cañeda the projects he wants to push are the rehabilitation of farm-to-market roads so that farmers could easily transport their crops, spring development in mountain barangays especially in Consolacion town, and introduce urban gardening.

Quisumbing said he is also concerned about the living conditions of fishermen in Consolacion and Cordova towns.

He said he will inquire from the Department of Agriculture and the BFAR regarding technologies that could improve the standard of living of fishermen and their families. (FREEMAN)
