Malaysian dies in road mishap
CEBU, Philippines - A Malaysian national died in a road accident yesterday morning along Ouano Avenue at the Reclamation Area in Mandaue City.
Chu-Yau-Hwa, 50, a Malaysian national who resided at sitio Tirbunal in barangay Centro, Mandaue City was traveling on an electric bicycle when he was bump from behind by a speeding Mitsubishi L-300 van with plate number TKG-776 which was driven by Roger Pino, 20, single, of barangay Tinubdan, Daanbantayan town.
Based in the investigation conducted by PO1 Rolando Guilledo of the Mandaue City traffic division, both men were heading toward the same direction but upon reaching the International Bar Complex at Ouano Ave., Pino bumped the Malaysian from behind, the impact throwing him away from his bicycle.
The Malaysian sustained a crack on the head as he hit the ground.
His electric bike was dragged by the car.
Chu-Yau-Hwa was taken to the Mandaue City Hospital but died several minutes after arriving while Pino is temporarily detained at the Centro police station pending the filing of charges against him.
