Luigi hospital bill goes to Senate

- Flor Z. Perolina -

CEBU, Philippines - Sixth district representative Luis Gabriel Quisumbing has said Congress has approved on third reading H.B 1801, or the bill seeking to increase the 50-bed capacity of the Eversley Child Sanitarium Hospital to one hundred.

The bill will be transmitted soon to the Senate for deliberation and sponsorship.

HB 1801 is the first bill Quisumbing has filed in Congress since he assumed office last year.

The bill, once passed into law, will also address the medical needs and make health care facilities more accessible to the constituents of the sixth district.

"This bill is the first I filed and I'm very happy with this development," Quisumbing said.

He hopes the other bills he has filed will be approved.

Aside from upgrading the hospital, Quisumbing is also allocating P600,000 of his Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) to the hospital.

The hospital will extend its services to indigent and disadvantaged patients from the 6th district requesting medical assistance from Quisumbing.

Quisumbing also plans to put up a satellite medical facility in Cordova in response to the request of constituents.

Eversley will administer and oversee the facility.
