Man claims Indian national beat him
CEBU, Philippines - A 28-year-old man yesterday morning claimed an Indian national mauled him last Tuesday night in an apartment in barangay Tabunok, Talisay City.
Quino dela Cerna, a resident of barangay Mambaling, Cebu City, reported the incident to the Talisay City Police Station yesterday morning and showed the bruises on his body.
Dela Cerna pointed to Shokeen Kumar, 21, a resident of sitio Laray,
barangay San Roque, Talisay City and Vinder Pal, 21, of Abellana Apartment, Tabunok as the culprits.
Pal is dela Cerna’s cousin’s live-in partner.
According to PO2 Roy Sarsaba, duty desk officer of the Talisay City
Police Station, last Tuesday dela Cerna visited his cousin in their apartment in Tabunok. That day Kumar, who earlier lost his mobile phone, was also in that apartment.
Reportedly, Pal told Kumar that dela Cerna, who is a construction worker, took his phone since he saw him using the same unit.
Upon hearing this, Kumar allegedly grabbed dela Cerna and started
punching him.
It was only when he saw his phone, which was of a different model, when the Indian national stopped mauling him.
For his part, dela Cerna said he is set to file charges against the two foreigners.
