Fire hits house

CEBU, Philippines - Fire destroyed a house in barangay Tugbongan in Consolacion town yesterday noon while an adjacent one also caught fire but was prevented from spreading.

Consolacion Fire Investigator Renato Lacang said the destroyed house belonged to one Leonora Estrera Arias while the other one is owned by one Fe Perez.

The Consolacion fire department received a call for help at round 12:05 afternoon.

The fire was put under control inside five minutes.

The Mandaue Fire Department and the Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation also came to help.

Lacang said the fire started inside the room of Perez's daughter where an unplugged electric fan could have been the culprit.

Damage to property was placed at P450,000.

No one reported injured during the fire, it was learned. - THE FREEMAN
