Five arrested in Naga for drugs
CEBU, Philippines - The police arrested Thursday afternoon five persons inside an alleged drug den in sitio Mohon, barangay Langtad, Naga City while sniffing shabu.
The suspected pusher and the den's caretaker were not around when the police came.
Now detained at the Naga police stockade are Victorino Eleccion, 29; Melvin Lawas, 40; Al Bacus, 24, all residents of barangay Valladolid, Carcar City; Jeffery Aliviado, 31, of barangay Perrelos, Carcar City; and Randy Aliviado, 38, of barangay Sangat, San Fernando.
The police confiscated from them two small sachets containing alleged shabu, a disposable lighter, and tin foil.
The seized shabu was taken to the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory for chemical analysis.
Police Officer 3 Francisco Codiñera, of the Intelligence Section of the Naga Police Station said information from a tipster led to the arrest of the men.
The suspects claimed they bought shabu from someone they failed to identify, while the caretaker accompanied them inside of the den.
Each paid P10 for each session.
Codiñera said they now have the identity of the drug pusher responsible for selling shabu in San Fernando town and Carcar City.
"Mao nay target namo ron dako na siya nga pusher ngari," he said.
The person was allegedly arrested in Cebu City for illegal possession of illegal drugs but he was released after he posted bail.
Charges against the five men are set to be filed today in the Provincial Prosecutor's Office in Naga City. (FREEMAN)
