Newscoop to act as Victo's publicity arm

CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu News Workers Multipurpose Cooperative, Inc (Newscoop) will serve as the publicity arm of Victo National, a federation of cooperatives in the country, to for its coop congress in October 20 to 22.

Elias Baquero, chairman on the Newscoop, said the partnership is another way of extending the organization's network to other cooperatives in the country.

The tie up was made formal last Saturday during a special board session at the Marcelo Fernan Cebu Press Center in barangay Lahug.

Under the agreement, the Newscoop will assist Victo, which chairs the council, in all publicity and promotion for the congress in October which is set to be held here, said Mercedes Castillo, chief executive officer of Victo.

Castillo said the congress will be a preparation for 2012, which is a year for cooperatives, in which the Newscoop is expected to play another important role. (FREEMAN)
