"Fratman" shot dead
CEBU, Philippines - A 21-year-old man who allegedly belonged to a fraternity was shot dead yesterday while on his way home after drinking with friends along Orel road in barangay Banilad, Mandaue City.
One of two men on a motorcycle pumped four bullets on Mark Josephus Sentena, 21, single, and a resident of Purok Acacia in sitio Orel.
Sentena was rushed to the Cebu Doctors' Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
His friends said they decided to go home at around 4:45 a.m.
They said Sentena was walking a few meters ahead them when a motorcycle passed by him and then made a turnaround. He was shot at close range.
Police said a .380 caliber pistol was used, its empty shells littered the crime scene.
Investigative and Detective Management Bureau Chief Rex Lomente theorized that the incident could be attributed to the rivalry between fraternities.
"Posibli pag-inom nila, nagpasingitay busa pag-uli gi-atngan," Lomente said. – THE FREEMAN
