Hoops Dome for rent

CEBU, Philippines - The Lapu-Lapu City government is toying with the idea of allowing a private firm to operate the city's Hoops Dome.

Mayor Paz Radaza said a private company has signified its interest to run the dome.

"Kun musugot man gani kita nga atong ma-privatize ang operation sa Hoops Dome atul usa gayud nga seguruon nga dili maapektahan ang atong mga kalihukan," Radaza said.

However, Radaza said it would take time to arrive at an agreement with a private firm.

The dome's inauguration is scheduled on July 2 and lone district of Lapu-Lapu Rep. Arturo O. Radaza has invited boxing icon and Rep. Manny Pacquaio to attend the affair.

The Hoops Dome was completed during the administration of former mayor and now Congressman Radaza. (FREEMAN)
