Decomposing body found in Lapu-Lapu

CEBU, Philippines - A decomposing body of a man was discovered floating in a mangrove area in sitio Santan in barangay Opao, Mandaue City yesterday morning.

The police identified the dead as 18-year-old Randy Gonzales from the postal identification card found in his wallet. They contacted Gonzales' sister who lives in barangay Pajac, Lapu-Lapu City.

The sister arrived at the Opao Police station to retrieve his younger brother's personal belongings and told police that her brother who hails from San Jose del Monte, Bulacan came to her house last March and from then on had often scolded him. Also found were a cellular phone and P126.

IDMB Chief P Sr/Insp. Rex Lomente said Gonzales could have committed himself suicide since no signs of foul play were found.
