Man stabbed over missing piggy bank

CEBU, Philippines - A 22-year-old man was stabbed by his sister's common-law husband in the different parts of his body yesterday morning in sitio Psalm Base, barangay Poblacion, Talisay City following a shouting match with his sister over a missing piggy bank.

Junel Jose, 22, who is a native of barangay Tayud, Minglanilla town, sustained stab wounds on his right thigh, right arm, and right hand.

SPO 4 Cleofas Bonjoc, desk officer of the Talisay City Police Station, said that prior to the incident, Junel had a heated argument with his sister, Juvy Jose, at his house who he alleged took his piggy bank.

Because of his anger, Junel hit his sister in the thigh and walked out of the house.

Moments later, Junel came back but only to find out Marlon Martin, 33, his sister's common-law wife, already waiting for him reportedly with a knife in his hand.

Martin first confronted Junel for hitting his live-in partner, and then allegedly struck him with the knife.

Junel was rushed to the Talisay District Hospital but Bonjoc said he was released shortly after.

Meanwhile, Martin, who escaped after the incident, as of press time, was still being hunted by police. (FREEMAN)
