Radaza to meet with police, village chiefs

CEBU, Philippines - Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza will meet with all barangay captains in the city and the police to discuss the peace and order situation and assess the incident that involved the “Kuratong Baleleng Gang.”

She said the police and the barangay captains will sign a covenant which would indicate the duties and responsibilities of the barangays in maintaining peace and order.

When asked if barangay captains will face sanctions if they failed to do their functions, Radaza said the covenant’s purpose is only to remind them of their commitment.

The city mayor said the killing has created problems for the city.

The police have already charged Kuratong member Rick Cadavero and three other companions with multiple murder and frustrated murder. (FREEMAN)
