CEBU, Philippines - Lapu-Lapu City will promote its delicacies when it celebrates its 50th founding anniversary on June 17.
Jimmy Glomar, executive officer of the Lapu-Lapu City Cooperative Livelihood and Resource Center, said residents will compete for recognition in the barangay level. Winners will then qualify to join the promotion.
Glormar said this activity will encourage residents in every barangay to promote their delicacy and get the opportunity to be recognized not only here but also overseas through the “Delicacy Festival.”
City Mayor Paz Radaza said the city government will provide financial assistance to the barangays once the delicacies have been identified.
City Councilor Harry Don Radaza said the delicacy festival is one the different activities being lined up leading to the anniversary. (FREEMAN)
