Mandaue enforces new vehicular traffic scheme

- Flor Z. Perolina -

CEBU, Philippines - The Traffic Enforcement Agency Management (TEAM) of Mandaue City has implemented some new re-routing scheme to ease the traffic in the city in view of the opening of classes tomorrow.

TEAM director for operations Edwin Ermac said under the new scheme, vehicles are to turn right in most major roads in the city.

In the old scheme, vehicles could just turn left or right, causing the traffic jams.

This time, the area in front of Colegio dela Inmaculada school, which used to be a parking area, is now a "no parking zone."

In the past, the parking area was a favorite place of drivers of cargo forwarding companies where double parking was practiced, clogging the area.

The area also became over-crowded at night when drivers would stop by the roadside to eat in some of the eateries.
