Man arrested for selling shabu, relative for obstruction of justice

CEBU, Philippines- Police arrested an alleged drug pusher and a relative during a buy-bust operation Monday evening in sitio Utlang, barangay Umapad, Mandaue City.

Jimmy Alilin, 19, was immediately taken into custody after handing over shabu to a poseur buyer in exchange for P200.

When frisked, Alilin yielded more shabu.

As the police were leading him away, his relatives Alfredo Alilin, 32, Rogelio Lariosa, a certain Benjie, and one Ramil tried to stop the police from taking him with them.

In response, the police also tried to arrest all of them but Lariosa, Benjie, and Ramil escaped, leaving Alfredo Alilin behind.

Charges for drug possession against Jimmy Alilin and obstruction of justice Alfredo Alilin are being prepared.

Meanwhile, the Basak Police station arrested last Monday afternoon a 23-year-old woman for allegedly selling five sticks of rolled marijuana.

Basak Police chief P/Insp. Stephen Amamag-id identified the alleged seller as Daisy Capule, 23, a resident of sitio Alliance in barangay Basak.

When frisked, 28 more marijuana sticks were found.

 Amamag-id said the woman is listed in the police station's watch list. — THE FREEMAN
