Tow firm Jadewell in spotlight anew

- Jose P. Sollano -

CEBU, Philippines - Another complaint was lodged against some personnel of Jadewell Parking Systems Corporation in the Office of Mayor Jonas Cortes yesterday.

Mandaue City Hall Consultant Francisco Amit talked to the representatives of PhilAsia, a company located at A.S. Fortuna in barangay Banilad, Mandaue City.

PhilAsia employees accused the personnel as arrogant who towed away their two multi-cabs parked in front of Cebu Rolling Hills located at A.S. Fortuna.

They told Amit that despite their appeals, their vehicles taken to the   impounding area in barangay Ibabao-Estancia.

"Nanghagad pa gyud ug sinumbagay ang usa sa ilang kauban," one of the employee said.

One of the employee was able to take pictures of the Jadewell personnel who towed their two multicabs.

Amit advised them to have the incident recorded at the police station and to execute an affidavit.

The Freeman had heard of a number of alleged unpleasant incidents involving Jadewell people.

Last year, Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes ordered Jadewell Parking Systems Corporation to stop its towing services.

The order came after the Commission on Audit found that despite the notice of expiration of its accreditation granted by the city council, the company has failed to secure a renewal or extension of its accreditation.

Cortes has asked the city council to review the existing contract between the city government and Jadewell following numerous complaints against its personnel.

It was learned that Jadewell's contract with the city government has not been renewed.  - THE FREEMAN
