Man stabs friend

CEBU, Philippines - A 60-year-old man was taken to hospital after getting stabbed by the father of his 23-year-old live-in partner in sitio Santo Rosario in barangay Jagobiao, Mandaue City yesterday noon.

Alejandro Daroy, 54, a resident of Santo Rosario surrendered to the police after attacking Diego Bernardo of Deca Homes in barangay Jagobiao.

The police said Bernardo was in sitio Santo Rosario allegedly to visit a friend yesterday noon.

As he was walking, Daroy approached Bernardo and attacked him. He surrendered after the police cornered him. 

They have been friends all these years but Daroy said he stabbed Bernardo because he resented the fact that his daughter is living with him when he is married.

He said Bernardo should have considered their friendship.

He also said that what irked him most was his daughter's refusal to leave Daroy because she is also in love with him.

Despite the friendship, Bernardo will still file charges against Daroy. –THE FREEMAN
