Export firm at MEPZ to train job seekers from Consolacion

CEBU, Philippines - Metro Wear, Inc., an export company based at the Mactan Export Processing Zone, will train job seekers from Consolacion town prior to employing them.

Consolacion Mayor Teresa Alegado said the company will provide the machines with which to train applicants.

The training of six batches with 30 people in each batch will last for two weeks.

The Consolacion Public Employment and Services Office has been tasked to coordinate with Metro Wear, Incorporated.

Alegado said that when she assumed office, a number of her supporters asked for assistance in finding jobs for them.

She said she couldn't accommodate all of them because of the limitation of funds.

Instead, she referred the job seekers to private companies but she was told the applicants lacked experience.

"Usa sa problema sa atong mga nagpangita og trabaho kay dili haom sa trabaho nga ilang gusto nga sudlan," said Mayor Alegado. (FREEMAN)
