CEBU, Philippines - Former Danao City chief of police Chief Inspector Eddie Recamara now sits as the new officer-in-charge of the Talisay City Police Office.

Effective yesterday, senior inspector Errol Francis Deveyra would serve as the deputy of the office, according to Cebu Provincial Police Office director Patrocinio Comendador.

The decision was approved by the Regional Senior Officer Placement Board of the Police Regional Office 7.

Comendador said three weeks after he sat as the provincial director he sent a letter to Talisay City Mayor Socrates Fernandez designating Recamara as the officer-in-charge, which the mayor agreed as long as Deveyra remains in the station as deputy.

Former Talisay chief of police Senior Superintendent Henry Biñas was relieved from his post last February 18 while an investigation is in progress for alleged harassment of a newspaper correspondent.

Comendador believes that Recamara's experiences as Danao chief will help him handle Talisay City.

"He has a background virtue of his work and I think he can handle Talisay City," Comendador said hoping the OIC will preserve the unity of the policemen in the city.

Meanwhile, police chief inspector Resti Santos, Daanbantayan chief will be sent to the Provincial Operations and Plans Branch on May 4.

Comendador said senior inspector Roseller Paller will serve as the officer-in-charge of the station.

"Santos will soon be promoted as superintendent so we need to relieve him," the official said.     (FREEMAN NEWS)
