"Pusher" arrested in Cordova town

CEBU, Philippines - The police arrested a man inside his home in sitio Matab-ang, barangay Day-as in Cordova town for possession of illegal drugs on the strength of a search warrant issued by Judge Mendrado Paredes of branch 13 of the Regional Trial Court in Cebu City.

Seized from Estaneslao "Ontong" Yap, 34, were illegal drugs amounting P57,000, repacking paraphernalia, and eight pieces of tablets in assorted colors.

The illegal drugs and the tablets recovered were brought to the Philippine National Police crime laboratory at Camp Sotero Cabahug for analysis.

Yap was under surveillance for more than two weeks before the warrant was served at about 2:30 in the morning yesterday, police said.

The police also seized illegal drugs in plastic, P2,840 in different denominations, forceps, a pair of scissors, and a cutter.

The man is now being detained. — (FREEMAN)
