Norwegian dies in road accident

CEBU, Philippines - A Norwegian national crashed on the pavement and died after losing control of his motorcycle in Suba-Panas in barangay Suba-Basbas, Lapu-Lapu City, Tuesday evening.

Lapu-Lapu City Traffic Investigators identified the victim as Bjorn Tore Olsen, 59, a resident of Helen Ville Subdivision in Barangay Pajac,in the city.

Initial investigation conducted by the Lapu-Lapu Traffic police said Olsen was traveling on his motorcycle after emerging from a bar in sitio Kagodoy, barangay Basak.

The police said Olsen was on his way to the house of a friend in Cordova town when the incident happened.

The Emergency Rescue Unit took Olsen to the Mactan Doctors’ Hospital.

But attending physician Dr. Raul Villegas declared him dead. –(FREEMAN)
