CEBU, Philippines - Police yesterday took two allegedly abandoned motorcycles to the PNP Crime Laboratory on suspicion these were used in the robbery of an M. Lhuillier pawnshop of P5-million worth of jewelry and other valuables Wednesday near the foot of the Marcelo Fernan Bridge in Lapu-Lapu City.
P/Insp. Ramil Morpos of the Investigative and Detection Management Bureau (IDMB) yesterday said the motorcycles, a red Honda XRM with plate number KK-6887 and a blue/black Honda Wave with a plate number KL-7257, were found Thursday evening with the help of telephone call from a resident of sitio Superior who saw these being parked at past 1 p.m. Wednesday, just minutes after the robbery.
Morpos said the motorcycles would undergo macro-etching to determine the engine and chassis numbers.
After the macro-etching, these will be taken to the Land Transportation Office to trace the owners and to find out who had driven the vehicles on the day of the robbery.
