Nine injured in road accident
CEBU, Philippines - Eight passengers and a driver of a multicab were injured in a head-on collision with a sports utility vehicle Friday evening in barangay Cambaro, Mandaue City.
The Mandaue City Traffic division said the KIA Sportage was driven by Henrico Gestopa Jr, 34, of San Jose Village in barangay Opao, Mandaue City while the multicab was driven by Jacinto Silawan, 34, of barangay Bangkal, Lapu-Lapu City .
At around 11:20 p.m. last Friday, both vehicles were traveling in opposite directions when the collision took place.
Injured were all of Silawan's passengers who were identified as Rowena Cinco, 42, Margarita Tabal, 54, Emerlita Oporto, 44, Nelson Sanchez, 22, Nenith Belarmino, 24, Jesusa Chan, 30, Junely Erana, and three-year-old Naneth Erana. They were taken to the Mandaue City Hospital.
