Two juveniles arrested for theft

CEBU, Philippines - Two juveniles were arrested yesterday by a security guard and turned over to the Subangdaku police station for allegedly stealing solder wires from a company located along Logarta Street in barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

Both minors, aged 15 and 17, are being accused of taking 20 meters of such wires from Metaphil Fabrication.

Police said the juveniles gained entry into the company by destroying corrugated sheets that served as perimeter fence.

The loss was confirmed Friday yet but the juveniles were arrested only yesterday after someone said he witnessed the robbery.

Both suspects reside a few meters away from Metaphil.

The wires were sold to a junk shop in barangay Tipolo but when the police arrived at the shop, the owner told them the wires had already been sold.

Andales said a robbery case will be filed against the minors while charges for violation of the anti-fencing law will be filed against the junk shop owner. – (FREEMAN)
