Brothers, accomplice arrested for robbery
CEBU, Philippines - The police arrested two brothers and a cohort after committing robbery Friday night along H. Cortes Street in barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City.
Brothers Jerome Camahalan, 35, married, and his brother Brian, 29, single, both residents of sitio Paray, barangay Kasambagan, Cebu City were arrested Saturday morning after their accomplice, Brian Mercado, 25, told police about their involvement in last Friday’s robbery.
Mercado told police that while they were walking last Friday evening, he was surprised when the brothers blocked the path of a man, later identified as Joseph Idias, and divested him of his Cherry Mobile cellular phone, necklace, and P30.
Idias sought help from a security guard of the Alpha Suites Hotel who immediately called police.
The following day, Mercado, who was accompanied by his parents, told police about his involvement in the crime.
The police said there’s a possibility Mercado could not sleep that night after being involved in a crime.
Both brothers were arrested in their house in barangay Kasambagan, Cebu City.
Only Idias’s phone was recovered.
Charges are being prepared against the three men who are now detained at the Subangdaku police station.
