Human skull found in Manipis

CEBU, Philippines - A resident stumbled upon a human skull yesterday morning beside the river in sitio Camp 6, barangay Manipis while collecting firewood in the area.

PO1 Rosauro Pasumala, who was among those who responded to the alarm, said the skull was partly buried in the ground.

He believed that it had been there for many years already gleaning from the algae that covered it.

Barangay Manipis chief Reynato Manayon called the police to inform them about the skull shortly after Ostello Baynos, 57, who first saw it, told him about it.

PO1 Jason del Campo said the site was combed for other body parts but found none.

Pasumala said the owner could have been killed a long time ago and his body buried in the area.

Members of the homicide division were sent to the area.

As of press time the skull was at the Talisay City Police Station in barangay Poblacion.

Pasumala said the bone would be buried at the Poblacion Catholic cemetery. - THE FREEMAN
