Jonas orders 10 temps probed

CEBU, Philippines - Mayor Jonas Cortes has ordered the investigation of 10 job order employees assigned at the Janitorial and Security Services Unit (JASSU) of the Mandaue City hall after two offices on the ground floor of the city hall were burglarized last February 3 and February 6.

Last February 3, the city treasurer’s office lost a bag containing P5 coins amounting to P1,500 while the City Cooperative Office lost two electric fans last February 6.

Jalousie blades from windows of the two offices were found removed.

City legal officer Giovanni Tianero said these employees were made to explain in writing about their whereabouts during these dates.

Tianero suspects it was an inside job or negligence on the part of the employees.

If they are found to have been negligent on,their employment contract will no longer be renewed by the city government. – THE FREEMAN
