Couple arrested for marijuana possession

CEBU, Philippines - Sixty hand-rolled sticks of marijuana were seized from a couple during a buy-bust operation conducted by the police Friday in sitio San Antonio in barangay Cambaro, Mandaue City.

The buy-bust operation, led by P/Insp.Wilson Abot, the chief of the Opao police station, arrested couple Jenny Lumapas, 48, and her husband Roberto Lumapas, 52, inside their home.

Police said a decoy handed over a P20 bill to Jenny in exchange for two hand-rolled sticks of marijuana.

Police then arrested Jenny, seized 58 pieces of hand rolled sticks of marijuana, and P1,970 from her husband.

Both suspects were brought to the Opao police station for detention pending the filing of charges against them.
