Police arrest notorious robber in Naga
CEBU, Philippines - One of the notorious robbers in Naga City was arrested Tuesday afternoon by policemen after robbing two collectors of Avon Products.
Three men on a motorcycle with no plate number took the P30,000 of Charlyn Gentapa Calarion, 30, and pieces of jewelry worth P16,000 from Calarion's companion. Both were residents of barangay Balirong.
Victims were sitting under a waiting shed along the national highway of barangay Lanas, Naga City when one of the suspects got off from the motorcycle and pointed a gun at Calarion.
Calarion alleged the man told them "ayaw ug lihok, tulis ni."
After turning over their money and jewelry, the robbers left, Calarion said.
After learning about the incident, the Naga police, led by Senior Inspector Rolando Ivalle, immediately chased the robbers and arrested Joseph Misa, a resident of barangay Tinaan who was positively identified by the victims.
He was arrested in barangay Inuburan while his cohorts are still at large.
None of the stolen money and jewelry was recovered from Misa.
Police Officer 3 Bernard Otida said Misa was identified by Calarion based on the pictures presented to her.
Otida said Misa had been arrested several times before but released after no case was filed against him.
Ivalle is encouraging people who had been robbed by Misa before.
