Town to deal with erring restaurant

CEBU, Philippines - Town officials have met top DENR officials to discuss the illegal structure being put up in a fishpond in barangay Tayud.

As claimed, a restaurant which has been built in the fishpond has not been granted permits from the Office of the Building Official, DENR, and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources.

DENR-7 regional technical director Maximo Dechoco, in a meeting with town officials headed by Mayor Teresa Alegado, said the town has to see to it that no structure is put up without permits.

He said the town as well as government agencies concerned can stop the operation of any structure in the fishpond. (FREEMAN)
