Woman, 21, claims tricycle driver abducted, blindfolded, raped her

CEBU, Philippines - A 21-year-old househelp has claimed she was abducted by a tricycle driver while on her way home Saturday evening and then raped.

The woman, of Maromo, Western Samar, currently works as a househelp in Agro-Macro Subdivision in barangay Cabangcalan, Mandaue City told police.

She said at around 8 pm last Saturday, she took a tricycle from barangay Maguikay for barangay Cabangcalan.

When it was her turn to be taken to her destination as the last passenger, the tricycle driver instead took her to an unnamed place and blindfolded her, she alleged.

She also claimed she was raped on the dawn of February 20 and was released on the morning of February 21.

During investigation, she said she could not describe the alleged rapist because she was blindfolded while being held captive.

She said she also could not remember the markings on the tricycle.

 Because of this she was advised to secure a medical certificate from the Pink Room of the Don Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center and was told to go back to the police station for the possible identification of the suspect. – THE FREEMAN
