Liloan launches "Purok" programs

CEBU, Philippines - The Municipality of Liloan recently launched its four frontline programs designed to address the environmental problem at the barangay level.

Mayor Vincent Franco "Duke" Frasco, Vice Mayor Merelito Surita, members of the municipal council, department heads, employees, barangay Officials, representatives from the private sector, residents, and non-governmental organizations joined the launch at Panphil B. Frasco Memorial Sports Complex.

The Purok System launch included the Search for the Most eGWEN Responsive Barangay, Search for the Most eGWEN Responsive Purok, and No Segregation and No Collection Policy.

The theme "Limpyo ug Lunhaw nga Tugkaran Nindot ug Luwas Puy-an Atong Katungdanan."

Mayor Frasco urged all residents to cooperate and share their support for the success of the program.

Vice Mayor Surita said the municipal council fully supports the program.

The vice mayor said the people of Liloan will be the one to benefit from the program.

For his part, Martin Yungco, municipal accountant and member of eGWEN Program Task Force, said the present problem that needs immediate attention today is environment.

Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer Rolando Tabunag, said the municipal government will strictly implement the No Segregation No Collection policy. (FREEMAN)
