CEBU, Philippines - The 18-year-old suspect in the killing of an alleged member of the "Bloods" gang last St. Valentine's Day was turned over by his father to the police.

Reneir Sartones, 18, a resident of Purok Lemonsito, barangay Opao, Mandaue City, who hid in the Tuburan town, was turned over to the Tuburan police station after he allegedly killed Jomari Villamor,17, of Purok Santan, barangay Opao last Monday evening.

P/Insp. Ariston Bataluna, the deputy police station chief of the Opao station said that around 9:45 p.m. last Monday, Villamor was talking to his girlfriend in a vacant lot in sitio Buckstone in barangay Umapad.

Villamor's girlfriend, a minor, was Sartones' ex-girlfriend.

When Sartones saw them, he confronted both of them and a heated argument ensued, which led Sartones to stab Villamor once on the chest with an ice pick.

Sartones then fled from the scene while Villamor was taken to the Mandaue City Hospital were he was declared dead.

It was later known that Sartones sought refuge in a relative's house in the town, which prompted his father to follow him and to convince him to surrender.

Sartones is now detained at the said police station pending the filing of a homicide case against him.
