Road mishap kills boy, hurts another

CEBU, Philippines - A Toyota pick-up hit a trisikad along MC Briones Highway in barangay Maguikay, Mandaue City midnight yesterday killing a14-year-old boy and injuring a fellow passenger.

The Mandaue City Traffic Division said a Toyota pick-up, with plate No. FR-699, and driven by Anthony Tan of Sta. Lucia Subdivision in Consolacion town, was on his way home from Cebu City when he hit the trisikad, driven by Elmer Valenzona, 25, of barangay Maguikay.

Passengers Rizza Andrade, 19, and Bryan Alibango, 14, sustained serious injuries.

Both were taken to a hospital in Cebu City were Alibango died a few hours later.
