Residents in 6th district avail of Luigi programs

CEBU, Philippines - Some residents of the different barangays of Mandaue City and Consolacion and Cordova towns are taking part in a livelihood training program being implemented by the office of sixth district Rep. Gabriel "Luigi" Quisumbing.

Quisumbing immediately set in motion programs aimed at assisting unemployed barangay residents earn a living.

The programs are run by teams of specialists that show residents, especially women, how to acquire skills in certain fields.

Companies and individuals, which Quisumbing had made prior arrangements with, would eventually buy the products made by the residents.

"Nakita nato nga ang nag-una gayud nga problema sa atong mga mulopyo nga walay mga trabaho, mao nga ato sila nga gitabangan nga adunay ilang kaugalingon nga panginabuhian," Quisumbing said. — THE FREEMAN
