MANILA, Philippines - In the age of Bluetooth, cables are cumbersome, so why bother at all, especially if you were planning to play some tunes while soaking in Epsom salts in the bathtub? With Sony Portable Wireless Speakers, you can take your music from the bathroom to the kitchen, then to the car and the office, provided your irritated officemate doesn’t hurl it across the room. Hey, she may not enjoy Lorde as much as you do.

Available in black, white, fuchsia and blue, Sony Portable Wireless Speakers provide up to 10 hours of battery life and come equipped with a G-force sensor, allowing it to detect the position of the speaker and determine whether to use either stereo or surround sound for an optimum listening experience. It also has multi-point connection function, allowing you to make hands-free calls while still keeping the music playing. The speakers are also splash-proof and made of rubber and mesh, but that still doesn’t mean your officemate can throw it around.

However, if you’re in the market for a new cellphone (hey, not everybody gets everything they want for Christmas past the age of 12), you may want to check out the latest Sony Xperia C, which is a five-inch, dual-sim smartphone available in black, white and purple. Xperia C also features an eight megapixel camera with Sony’s Exmor R sensor and HDR for photos, a smart voice guide and a new function called “Portrait Retouch.” To take a selfie with the main camera, you can just enable the smart voice guide and the phone will use voice commands to help frame the shot. Portrait retouch offers users a way of softening skin tones because not all Instagram filters can alter harsh lighting conditions or hide a zit.

The Sony Portable Wireless Speaker is available at P6,999, while the Sony Xperia C will be available at P13,990.
