Denim is dark matter

Black splash: The Viktor X Lorico collection is primarily about menswear-inspired pieces that reflect the city culture and character.

MANILA, Philippines - It has been a decade since Viktor elevated the way people buy and wear denim jeans in Manila. Hence it’s only fitting that to mark their 10th year, the brand teamed up with designer Jerome Lorico to create a directional collaboration for fall 2013 that reflects the city’s culture and character.

Viktor x Lorico is dominated by strong menswear pieces like authentic leather biker jackets and denim jeans with reinforced seams and coated and glossed details. Balancing the sheen are matte elements such as customized knit scarves in black and oxblood and patterned in checks. Adding subtle impact to the looks were white gold-coated ear curve accessories created in special collaboration with Jun Jun Ablaza’s Ablaze Artcessories.

The Viktor x Lorico fall 2013 line was presented last Nov. 28 at the Greenbelt 5 Fashion Walk. To bring an authentic urban feel to the show, Sonny Sunga and Arnold Austria of architecture firm Jagnus created a 10-foot-tall installation that served as a backdrop to the runway — the two shallow pools lining up the fashion walk.

The Viktor x Lorico special limited collection is available in Viktor stores in TriNoma and Greenbelt 5.
