MANILA, Philippines - Astrologers say the Year of the Water Snake marks the beginning of many good things to come, both in large industries and personal affairs — giving us worthy reasons to celebrate.
Eton City is celebrating the whole month. There is an anime giant display for photo backdrops, and billboards and life-size figures complemented by mood and lighting.
Toy customizers Toyman Custom and Foxhunter Custom will exhibit action figures from Marvel comics and more, also available for photo ops. They will conduct toy customization workshops from Feb. 11 to 17 with a demo presentation on Feb. 16.
A robot-making contest will be held for high school freshmen, sophomores and juniors. Catch teams from different schools design robots using recycled materials and assemble their entries at the Activfun Zone of Eton City, Sta. Rosa, Laguna on Feb. 11 to 13.
Neutral Grounds Philippines will hold a game tournament on Feb. 16 and 17, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., which will include exhibition games and painting demonstrations. The Laguna Cosplay Team (LACOSTE) will be manning game booths from Feb. 11 to 17. Try your luck and play at the marriage, jail, wishing, shooting gallery, dedication booths and many more.
Naturally, the improvement that the Year of the Snake promises is also an urge to help others advance. On Feb. 14, Valentine’s Day, local bands will perform in a mini-concert from 6 to 9 p.m. Attendees will be serenaded with acoustic hits, making it a perfect stopover for a Valentine’s date. A voluntary contribution will be solicited from guests for the benefit of Bahay Parola of the Mission to the World Philippines Foundation, Inc., which helps address basic needs of street children.
To cap off the festivities, a cosplay event will be facilitated by the Laguna Cosplay Team. See your favorite anime characters live in the flesh at ActivFun Zone grounds on Feb. 17 at 6 p.m.
Eton City is home to events that fuse fun, fellowship, creativity and social development, making it a great destination.
