MANILA, Philippines - It was a sea of red and white at the Pond’s and Plains & Prints launch at Shangri-La Makati.
To celebrate the partnership between the two brands, Plains & Prints fashioned a red and white collection, the colors mimicking the theme of Pond’s Age Miracle and Pond’s Flawless White lines.
Finding common ground between the two retail giants wasn’t as big a stretch as most would assume.
“We share the same mission as Pond’s,” notes Roxanne Farillas, Plains & Prints owner and head of creatives, “which aims to make visible transformations in women by providing the best quality of beauty products that complement our philosophy of providing quality and world-class designs and pieces to make every women look and feel good about themselves.”
And at the end of the day, they speak to the same demographic. “The two brands share the same target market of young professionals, career women, fashionably hip moms, and stylish women who love to look beautiful and wear clothes with a statement, “ says Pond’s senior brand manager Jacqe Yuengtian.
The collection came together in six months, with eight dresses inspired by the duo’s muses, made up of YStyle creative director and Plains & Prints endorser Celine Lopez, Project Runway Philippines judge and global PR manager for Pond’s Apples Aberin, STAR columnist and Pond’s brand ambassador Rissa Mananquil, real estate executive Divine Lee, TV host Kelly Misa, stylist and makeup artist Bianca Valerio, Karma owner Mai Kaufman and personality development expert Patty Betita.
Each dress, according to Plains & Prints’ Theya So, pays homage to the muses’ personality and lifestyle. “Since Celine Lopez has a kind of eclectic gypset sense of style that plays a part in the design of the dress.”
Expect to find these dresses paying tribute to the eight icons of style filling the racks of Plains & Prints stores.
