Fall hair-story, according to L'Oreal

Inspi-ration can come from many sources, and every era has had its own muses to help define it for generations to come. Remember when supermodels were the ultimate pegs for glamour and beauty? They were on magazine covers and on TV as themselves, and not as anonymous beautiful faces and bodies — think Cindy Crawford, Iman, Tyra. Then Hollywood celebs became the ultimate standards of coolness; the cast of Gossip Girl made everyone slip on preppy-girly headbands with bows. Now, for fall/winter 2009, L’Oreal gets its inspiration from two music genres that defined a generation and continues to inspire fresh young minds: rock and folk music.

Music being a major mover in today’s society and a dictator of both fashion and beauty trends, L’Oreal Professionnel Artistic Ambassador Philippe Tordjman took up the forecasts created by Yannick d’Is (for rock) and Marc Lopez (for folk) from Paris and reinterpreted them for the local market, keeping in mind our hair coloring and textures. The looks are both an homage to the amazing creativity and vision of rock and folk, and a modern interpretation of what looks current.

In alignment with the music inspiration, the local looks for fall and winter ‘09 were done on local musicians, from both rock and folk genres. Check them out and find your own inspiration for this season.
