Even if staying financially solvent isn’t high on your priority list at the moment (oh, the life of an undergrad), we say don’t blow all your tuition money on passé pieces that make those tired-ass school spirit, Henry Holland knockoff shirts with rhyming phrases look like new. Seriously, my sister owns one (she is in college — it’s more deprezz to see some old dude with a bald pate sporting one of those while maniacally screaming at their alumni team’s players at a basketball game) and it looks like the handiwork of a five year old with a silk screen fetish.
Black and white — and all the hues in between like, um, gray and nude — look like the kind of sophisticated hues quasi-intellectual coeds would wear as a uniform. As if to say: I’m too busy constructing an obligation-based framework for media ethics to think about something as shallow as my outfit today. Duh.

Striped cardigans, knit shirtdresses and cotton tunics are just some of the label’s pieces that can serve as comfy yet classic wardrobe staples. Wear them with jeans or layer with tights. Go barelegged (well, as barelegged as your school dress code allows) during the more humid months. Perhaps what most people fail to mention when praising a monochromatic wardrobe is this: you can wear it twice or more, without washing, and no one will be the wiser.
