1. I want to see Mike De Leon make another movie.
2. I want to see #EscoltaRising.
3. I want to see smarter magazines.
4. I want to see smarter public officials.
5. I want to see Ang Bandang Shirley get that massive, mainstream hit that will immortalize them.
6. I want to see Sarah Geronimo come into her own and find her own “Lemonade.”
7. I want to see our culture value things other than youth, hype, and hash-tagged love teams.
8. I want to see talented but underrated actors like Iza Calzado get the lead roles for a change.
9. I want to see smarter dialogue online.
10. I want to see more responsible news reporting.
11. I want to see less VSCO-ed to the hilt, generic and obviously paid flat-lays and #OOTDs.
12. And if it’s a lot of kids’ goal to become online influencers, I want to see them at least strive to say something more interesting, have a life outside Instagram, and have an actual body of work to back up that “influencing.”
13. I want to see the local fashion community grow from creating beautiful images to creating meaningful images.
14. I want see more brands like Bench supporting important educational books like Mark Lewis Higgins and Gino Gonzales’ Fashionable Filipinas: An Evolution of the Philippine National Dress in Photographs, 1860-1960.
15. I want to see more support for the local art scene outside big events like Art Fair Philippines.
16. I want to see Philippine artists participate in more international events like the Venice Art Biennale.
17. I want to see big local galleries like Silverlens and The Drawing Room continue to flourish in art fairs abroad.
18. I want to see more support for art shows and efforts outside of Manila’s big gallery scene, like Project 20 and 98B Collaboratory.
19. I want divorce to finally be legalized in the Philippines.
20. I want same-sex marriage to be legalized in the Philippines.
21. I want the LGBT community to have more representation in Philippine media.
22. I want rape culture to be abolished.
23. I want to see our culture progress from sending a “Don’t get raped” message to our young girls, to a “Don’t rape — period” message to our young men.
24. I want the culture at large to continue chastising public officials and celebrities who make sexist or homophobic remarks — they’re part of the problem.
25. I want to see us support and give a fair chance to anyone who has enough courage to come forward and talk about an injustice committed against them.
26. I want to see less victim-blaming.
27. I want to see us preserve our heritage buildings.
28. I want to see us preserve our best films.
29. I want to see us champion our local cuisine.
30. I want to see us champion our local.
