Help feed the children by eating delicious steak

MANILA, Philippines - Everyone’s favorite home restaurant, Mamou, is celebrating its birthday this July 23. To commemorate six years (two in Mamou Too) of cooking us the country’s most delicious steak, the restaurant will be donating all the profits from July 23 sales to feeding program charity. “This will be the sixth year we will be having a fundraiser to help feed children from public elementary schools,” says Mamou’s MM Vazquez, “Last year we raised roughly P500,000 in a single day and gave it to a feeding program headed by Marketmanila.com.” What makes this fundraising even more admirable is that even the profit of the staff’s service charge is donated to the charity. “It was totally their idea,” MM tells us. “When management told the staff about the fundraising, they themselves volunteered that the service charge be donated as well.” For Mamou, the feeding program will focus on giving meals to elementary public school children, as they’ve learned that a child’s nourishment directly affects their capacity to learn. “One meal for one child costs about P20 to P25, so if you order one of our steaks, just imagine how many children you can feed!” So forget about the calories for one day and think of the children, and yes, eat some steak!
