I am such a passionate person in almost everything I do that when I like something I really like it. I can be so wrapped up in something that my “favorite things” can keep changing as I discover new things that suddenly make the list. This is absolutely not true, though, for all things. There are so many favorite things I adore and will always remain my “most favorite thing in the world” no matter how many new things I do.
One of those is loving Las Vegas! I have always loved Sin City. As early as when I was a little girl my parents took me there on a road trip. We stayed at the Riviera (if I recall correctly) and played games and won prizes at Circus Circus. It was so much fun and exciting to be in a city that is so alive and busy and always has something going on. I always remembered it as a fun place to be.
That did not change as I got older and became well traveled (for my age at least). While there were new additions to my favorite list (my top city is a constant battle between Paris and New York), Las Vegas always remained (and will remain) in a special place in my heart. I love the excitement and electric feel of the city and how there is always something new and exciting to see, to do, or to experience. It is just constantly changing and evolving and I love that!
What’s more, Nino loves Las Vegas too, which is just icing on the cake! That is why we spent a considerable amount of time there when we went on our cross-country US trip a little while back. We both enjoy everything there is to do in Las Vegas, whether it’s the tourist-y things like hotel hopping up and down the strip to playing blackjack (his specialty), poker or cards, or catching amazing shows like The Lion King at Mandalay Bay or even just walking around at night and enjoying the lights.
And this trip was just that: perfect. I had so much fun in Las Vegas I found myself wishing that I lived there! We got to walk up and down the strip and pop in and out of all the fun hotels, we even rode the gondola at The Venetian. We popped into big and small casinos alike and even enjoyed one or two evenings down at Fremont Street for the amazing light show. Plus, we got to see Lion King (we got really lucky and were able to grab the last decent seats earlier in the day of the show), which Nino enjoyed it as much as I did. I even got to see the New Kids on the Block concert right before we headed home (but that’s another story altogether).
All in all, I could not have asked for more. We spent a little over a week total in LV and I could have stayed longer if possible. But hey, that’s what the next vacation is for!
