BANGKOK, Thailand — Experiences mold our psyches. They define how we choose to relate to our family, friends, foes and even ourselves. Our upbringing, even before we are aware of it, influences how we later interpret the unfolding drama of our lives and view the world around us.
Amid this unending stream of experiences, there is a need to stay in touch with others and with ourselves. So we gravitate towards people who have common interests, shared beliefs, or collective tastes. We end up with a chosen circle of friends and wider group of associates.
We know that we can express our individuality fearlessly among our closest friends, no matter how outrageous. Yet, we also desire acceptance and recognition. It just seems like so much work, going about our daily lives.
Thankfully, technology has made the tedium of daily living less drab and difficult.
For myself, I thankfully get instant updates from friends via text messages. I hardly miss any phone calls now. Upon switching on my laptop, the first thing I do is check my e-mail, surf the Net for the latest trends and news, and review my schedule on my electronic calendar. All this communicating with family, friends and colleagues I do while simultaneously listening to my iPod.
These are just a few manifestations of how technology has cozied up to our lives. Or is it the other way around?
Recognizing the need for more efficient technology and friendlier gadgets, Motorola over the years has successfully introduced iconic products that have revolutionized the lifestyles of people around the world.
On the back of the success of its RAZR brand, Motorola launched the next generation RAZR2 recently in Bangkok, Thailand. This next generation of handsome phones is packed with cutting-edge features, such as Crystal Edge technology, up to 2GB of on-board memory, Web browsing, and real-time point-to-point video.
Like its functions, the design of the RAZR2 is sleek and modern. It is two millimeters slimmer than the original RAZR phones. The enhanced dual screens provide crisper pictures and even more readable text messages.
The seamless casing, soft-touch back, and astonishing vacuum-metal front design will undoubtedly bestow upon the new RAZR2 phones even more iconic status.
Behind all the design and innovation, Motorola has not lost sight of what the RAZR2 is all about: individuals and their experiences. The multimedia RAZR2 allows room for self-expression without much hassle.
Mobile phones have become more than just a tool. They are now accessories that express our selves and our aspirations. That one multipurpose gadget keeps us in tune not only with the outside world but also with ourselves.
As technology and daily life mingle seamlessly, we ask ourselves: Do gadgets shape our lives? Or does daily life define technology?
