Lovin’ the Beach lifestyle

It may be because I’m such a water baby, but I know that one of the things I love most about our beautiful country is the fact that no matter where I find myself here, I’m always near a beach. Whether it be in Manila where I’m just a few hours drive away from Batangas, Punta Fuego, Calatagan, or Subic or off on the sunny shores of Cebu, Bohol, Boracay, or Palawan, the Philippines is the epitome of a country living the beach culture lifestyle and I love every minute of it.

I can’t even begin to imagine living in a place that doesn’t embrace the sun, sand, and sea. They are my constant pick-me-ups. Every now and then when I feel the pressures of daily life are just too strong, nothing calms me more than heading to the ocean. I don’t even have to swim or dive I just have to dip my toes in the cool salt water and I immediately feel better.

Not to mention, along with always being near the coastline, the Philippines’ tropical lifestyle allows me the fashion license to wear my beloved beach clothes in the city without getting stared at like a freak of nature. I love the dressed down funky vibe beach clothes afford me and as Manila society has already embraced the flip-flop explosion (God bless Havaianas!), loose flowing fisherman pants and linen drawstrings are seen on the fashion-savvy easygoing set as often as their staple denims. Thank God!

While fisherman pants have exponentially risen among the beach-loving set – both here in Manila and in Boracay, the original tie-front tie-back creation first came from exotic Bangkok. Tourists everywhere could been seen sporting the multi-colored diverse bottoms with tees, tank tops, or even bikini tops. And why not, not only are they comfortable (the rayon fabric feels like silk on the skin) and chic, they come in almost every color imaginable!

Indeed, Bangkok is every beach lover’s clothes Mecca. Not only are they the parents of the ever-famous fisherman pants, they also began the wrinkly tiered skirt phenomenon in Asia along with the versatile linen drawstring pants and the multi-colored rayon fold-overs. The Thais surely know how to look stylish on the sand. And even better than that, these incredible pieces can even take you straight from the beach to the mall, that lunch with your girlfriends, the movies, or even that Sunday family get-together.

They’re some of my favorite choices for just simply hanging out with loved ones either in the city or on the sunny shores of paradise. And now they’re available right in our backyards. To satisfy the hunger of the discerning beach-loving set, Beach Baby brings in the original Thai fisherman pants, linen drawstring capris, and flowing tiered skirts straight from the shores of Bangkok. Incredibly versatile these pieces can be worn with your favorite bathing suits or paired with crisp tee shirts for a chic casual look that’s incredibly comfortable. I guarantee the moment that soft fabric touches your skin you’ll never want to take them off.
