SERENDIPITY
SONY MUSIC

Serendipitous is the most suitable word to describe this original sound track. John Cusack (America’s Sweethearts) and Kate Beckinsale (Pearl Harbor) star in the romantic flick Serendipity, a moving narrative about the power of destiny.

Naive yet uncompromising, the tracks present easy flowing tunes usually accompanied by light guitar riffs. The suburban flair is replaced with simple yet intelligent music, instrumental or otherwise. Music hall-of-famers Annie Lennox and Louis Armstrong share the spotlight with up- and-coming contemporary acts like Evan and Jaron and Chantal Kreviazuk.

Each cut possesses diversity in musical styling from the rest. There are remakes like "Waiting In Vain" and "Always Something There To Remind Me," instrumentals like "Moonlight Kiss" and "Fast Forward," Christmas hymns like "Cool Yule," and crisp originals—all in the tradition of Jerry Maguire slash My Best Friend’s Wedding OST cheesiness.

Perfect for cozying up with a love buddy or as a cruising sound for a soul mate search, this soundtrack is "love bug" reincarnate; with its13-track intensity, resident cynics, be aware!
