The success that is Henann Group of Resorts

MANILA, Philippines - The largest resort group in the island paradise of Boracay all started with one man’s idea of building his own resort where his family and friends could enjoy a one-of-a-kind, hassle-free vacation. That same idea has materialized into a world-class company whose mission is to provide its guests with great accommodations, excellent service and value for their money.

Founded in 1998, the Henann Group of Resorts (Henann Group), under the helm of visionary chairman Dr. Henry Chusuey, ventured into the hospitality industry with Boracay Regency Beach Resort, a hotel with 43 rooms, a swimming pool and a restaurant.

Boracay Regency showcased excellence in its performance at this early stage as it was the first resort at the long beach to receive the highest resort rating from the Department of Tourism (DOT).

Fast forward today, Boracay Regency Beach Resort and Spa is now one of Boracay’s topnotch and renowned resorts with 285 rooms, a convention center, a luxury spa and an expansive beachfront.

2009 was a remarkable year for the Henann Group as it expanded its properties on the island, with the company acquiring Henann Garden Resort, formerly known as Boracay Garden Resort. Four months thereafter, the company opened its third venture in Boracay — Henann Lagoon Resort, formerly known as Regency Lagoon Resort.

Henann Garden Resort, with 273 rooms, is one of the biggest resorts on the island and boasts of having the largest open space among the three resorts of the Henann Group in Boracay. On the other hand, the 120-room Henann Lagoon Resort has the biggest swimming pool in the group and on the island, measuring 1,200 square meters.

“We can accommodate a large number of guests like no other resort can, since we are the biggest resort group on the island of Boracay,” says Chusuey. “We are a luxury resort, but what separates us (from the rest) is we value your money when staying with us. (We ensure our services) do not make you feel cheated in terms of the hard-earned money you spent.”

With nearly 700 rooms across its properties in Boracay, the resort giant led by Chusuey will be adding 100 rooms to the Henann Lagoon Resort by the end of 2014 while acquisition of new beachfront properties in Stations 1 and 2 of Boracay are presently in the works.

The Henann Group continues to venture into greater heights in the country’s hospitality industry as it is set to open a 400-room luxury resort in Panglao, Bohol by the third quarter of 2014 — the Henann Resort Alona Beach.

Meanwhile, the resort giant has set its eyes in opening another premier resort on the picturesque Malcapuya Island in Coron, Palawan as planning stages are currently ongoing for the Henann Resort, Malcapuya Island.
